An online (or timed) auction is an automated sales process conducted entirely over the internet over a defined period, typically ranging from a few days to a couple of weeks. Unlike traditional live auctions, there is no auctioneer calling bids. Participants place bids digitally at their convenience throughout the duration of the sale.
This format allows bidders to participate from anywhere, significantly expanding the potential audience for each asset. It also enables the efficient and cost-effective sale of smaller estates or individual items that may not be suitable for a live auction setting.
